Edit Files

Find out how you can edit files in the library.

Each folder of the library contains folder(s) and/or file(s). When you click on a file, you can:

Click on "Information" in the top-left of the page or on "Comments" in the top-right of the page to:

  • View the file status
  • Access the file link
  • Edit the file by clicking on "Edit" in the top-right corner
  • Interact with the comments and the audit trail section at the bottom of the page

Click on the menu in the top-right corner of the file page to:

  • Edit the file
  • Download the file

Edit files in the library.

To edit a file:

  1. Navigate to the menu and click on your Company page
  2. Click on "Library"
  3. Click on the folder that houses the file that you want to edit
  4. Click on the file
  5. Click on the button in the top-right corner
  6. Click on "Edit"
  7. Adjust any of the following information
    • File name
    • Status: Choose from Draft, Active, or Inactive. Active is the default
    • File validity: Toggle on "File validity" if there is an expiration date on the file. By default, files do not have an expiration date, so "File validity" will be toggled off
    • Valid until: Use the calendar to select an expiration date for the file
    • Notify to: Select one or more users that will be notified one month before the expiration date
  8. You will also find:
    • Link: Copy and send the file to other Opslock users. This link will remain the same, even when you replace the file
    • "Upload a new version" button: Upload a new, updated document to replace the current one. You will still have access to previous versions, but currently, you cannot view them
    • "Delete file" button: It allows you to delete the file from the library

💡 Note that when a file is within 30 days of expiration, it will be labeled "Expiring Soon" and the user who uploaded the file and the user(s) who were added to the "Notify to" section, will be alerted.
